Our K-5th grade students study various topics in our three-year cycle of Unitarian Universalism, Abrahamic religions, and World Religions with their teacher Mrs. Kate Z. Ms Kate has been a long time member of ESUUC, having held different positions helping with RE through the years, and is an education professional.

This year the children in RE will be doing a series of service projects.  We are asking for your support in these endeavors.

For the month of October, we are collecting Hygiene Kits which will be shipped to the Church World Service for distribution.  In the past year, CWS has distributed kits around the world to refugee camps and within the United States.  Currently the CWS is helping to get needed supplies to Hurricane victims in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.

The kits are inexpensive to put together and all we ask is for an extra $2 for each kit you donate for processing.  We will take monetary donations also.

Information about the kits is available at the table at the back of the sanctuary and also on the tables in the community room.

For November, we will be collecting new toys for Toys for Tots.

In December we will be collecting new socks for distribution to groups helping the homeless in Pittsburgh.

January and February we will have a food drive to help fill the Food Bank after the holiday rush.

March and April we will be holding a bake sale and will have a lemonade stand after church to raise money to send to our much loved Ugandan school.

Please help us in any way you can as the children practice the joy of service to the community at large.
