A Climate Justice Flower Communion

Flower Communion is one of the most loved UU traditions, because it symbolizes many of our values, especially connectedness, which is so vital in our increasingly divided world. We each bring a flower, place it in a community vase, and then take home a new flower from someone else. This year, in addition to discussing the significance of the ritual, we will learn about how wildflowers, and the creatures with whom they are interconnected, are at risk due to climate change. We will “grow” a field of wildflowers during Service (i.e., a craft activity). IMPORTANT NOTE: Please bring a flower from your yard if you are able. We will provide extra flowers for those who can’t (or forget ).
