What We Offer Through the Lifespan

East Suburban Unitarian Universalist Church is pleased to offer Religious Education opportunities for children through adults during our program year from September to June.  Classes for children run concurrently with the church service on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:30 am.

We provide everyone an opportunity to explore, reflect, and learn in a nurturing spiritual community. Unitarian Universalist religious education programs inspire:

  • Ethical growth – internalizing enduring values like justice, equity, and compassion, and gaining tools to act on them in everyday life.
  • Social growth – connecting with peers and people of all ages on a deeper level. Finding acceptance among people who see beyond the superficial.
  • Spiritual growth – feeling a connection with the sacred within, among, and beyond us.

Religious education programs include more than classes. On a Sunday you might find the preschoolers playing games that encourage kindness, our K-5th graders engaging with a story about compassion, and all ages engaging in spiritual discussions during intergenerational services and events. Many programs incorporate social justice activities, worship opportunities, service trips, fellowship, and fun.

Our religious education admin, ministry team and volunteers lead many of our congregations’ lifespan programs. Parents and other members of the congregation are encouraged to participate as teaching can be a very fulfilling way to deepen one’s own faith.

We invite you to explore these pages and contact our Religious Education Administrator to get connected, volunteer, and sign-up yourself or your children for a program.
