Stone Soup Sunday

This year’s Stone Soup Sunday service features a new play starring the ESUUC Players, written by Mary Warwick. After fighting the war against UPMC for affordable healthcare, two soldiers walking home stop in Murrysville to look for food and footwear. They meet an odd assortment of characters along the way, and eventually enjoy community and a tasty bowl of soup! We will enjoy our own soup,
an annual tradition, after the service.
On this day, we honor a tradition inspired by the Stone Soup Story that is not only held by Unitarian Universalists, but other faiths and cultures around the globe. Congregants are encouraged, but not required, to bring ingredients they think would make a delicious addition to a soup and drop it off in the community room before service starts. During service, our dedicated cooks will attempt to make as many soups as they can within 1 hour, then we shall all gather and share after service.
