We all know that UU’s are predominantly white, but did you realize that we are also largely upper-class: well-educated, professional-class, economically secure? Such class similarities may lead us to make inaccurate assumptions about how others think, work, or live, assumptions that may hurt or alienate them. With the aid of materials from the “UU Class Conversations” group, Brenda S. discusses what we can do to make our church community more class-inclusive, more welcoming to middle-class, working class, or poor people.
